I agree with Ashley's comment above. For me what worked best is:
1. Heating Pad first
1B. While I'm sitting on the heating pad, I was always rolling the progesterone in my hands to warm in it up, it goes in easier when it's a little warmer (and sometimes I was lazy and just put it in my bra- body heat baby!)
2. Ice cube it for a bit first
3. Confident husband to just go for it.
3B. VERY important to remember to change the gauge of the needle to the smaller one, an 18 guage one hurts very badly going in!
4. Massage and heat after the shot to prevent knots (which are going to happen if you're on it along time)

Another tip would be to assign your left cheek to odd days and right cheek to even days. I altered every day and could never remember which I did the day before, so the even odd worked well.

It's a process, and it's not the easiest injection but it's not the worst thing. Good uck! Inject it slowly and then rub the area a little afterwards. Sometimes a heating pad helps. A confident hubby (or whoever will be giving them) helps a lot, too. Oh, and I always plugged my ears and hummed really loudly when he was giving it to me. Ifind the progesterone shots and it really helped to massage that area right after hubby injected the shot. It is thick and massaging it in helped to ease the discomfort. Praying for you as you embark on this exciting new option. :)- Danielle Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5212914325883980579.post-10167602148850071212013-10-02T17:58:58.715-07:002013-10-02T17:58:58.715-07:00It's not fun, but wasn't as bad as I thoug...It's not fun, but wasn't as bad as I thought. Just make sure that who ever gives you the injection sticks the needle in quick and injects the medicine slowly! - speaking as a CMA and as a patient!
