Surprise - We're Expecting!!

Soooo...we have some news. :) As you know, we've been taking a break from baby pursuits since we miscarried in January. This week we were contacted out of the blue by a different adoption agency that was looking for a couple for a young birthmom. Our profile was shown to her and her family yesterday and they selected us to raise the baby! He is due to make his appearance on April 23, less than three weeks away! We're going to be parents this month! Eeeeee!! :)

  12. Yay!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow, God sure is full of surprises! :) This reminds me of when, a few months ago, the pastor at my church was telling us about dear friends of his who struggled with infertility for years. They just could not understand why God wouldn't answer their prayers to conceive and carry a child to full term. They finally decided to pursue adoption and went through the processes involved. As soon as they were finished and approved to be adoptive parents, they were contacted within TWO days that a teen mother on the other side of the state had a baby due in a week and she was considering them, out of three couples, to adopt her son! They (this couple) had to decide quickly if they wanted to be considered to adopt this baby on such short notice so they prayed about it and decided to say yes. And, you guessed it! This teen mother chose them! So, a week after they finished the process to be adoptive parents, they drove to a hospital in Detroit as the birth mom was in labor and they met their precious son. My pastor showed the congregation a photo of this precious boy and said something I'll never forget! Paraphrasing: "God allowed this couple to go through the pain of infertility because He knew that they were meant to be this little boy's parents." If they had been able to conceive on their own and carry children to full term, they would not have been looking to adopt! But God, in His infinite wisdom, knew that this was/is their son and He orchestrated the events that made that possible. BEAUTIFUL! <3 And I would say the same applies to your story!

I am SO excited for you both and I can't wait to see pictures of your little cutie after he's born and you bring him home! I will be praying that everything goes well! This is SO awesome!!! :)

  17. I am so happy to know your beautiful boy is here! I found your blog through another blog and then through yours found my dear friends in MN.
As I birthmom who placed my daughter 4 months ago, it really touches my heart when I hear someone's life has been blessed through adoption, as mine has.
I have a beautiful daughter who I am able to see all the time and she has an amazing family and an older brother, who is 7, and completely adores her.
I pray for the transition for you, your son, and the birth mom as that was the hardest time for me.
Thank you for sharing your story!
